Risk disclosure
Read this before you place an order. Crypto-assets can lose value quickly and permanently, and most of the protections you may be used to do not apply.
Last updated: April 6, 2026
1. You can lose everything you put in
Crypto-asset prices are highly volatile and can fall sharply in a short period, including to zero. Past performance tells you nothing about future value. Do not exchange money you cannot afford to lose entirely.
2. No deposit insurance, no compensation scheme
Crypto-assets are not bank deposits. They are not covered by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, by any provincial deposit guarantee, or by any investor compensation scheme. If the value of your holding falls, no one reimburses you.
3. Transactions are irreversible
Once assets are sent on a blockchain, the transfer cannot be recalled, reversed or charged back, whether by us, by your bank, or by anyone else. If you supply an incorrect wallet address, an address on the wrong network, or an address you do not control, the assets are lost permanently.
4. Self-custody risk
We deliver assets to the wallet address you nominate. From that point, security is your responsibility. Losing your private key or recovery phrase means losing access to the assets, with no recovery mechanism. FinexiaCA will never ask you for a private key or recovery phrase. Anyone who does is attempting to defraud you.
5. Liquidity and market risk
Crypto-asset markets can become illiquid without warning. In stressed conditions you may be unable to sell at the price you see, or at all. Trading can be halted, networks can become congested, and transaction fees can rise steeply.
6. Technology risk
Blockchain networks may suffer bugs, forks, congestion or attacks. Third-party infrastructure we rely on, such as payment processors, liquidity partners and custodians, may fail or be compromised. These events can delay or prevent delivery.
7. Regulatory and tax risk
The rules governing crypto-assets are still developing and differ by country. A change in law may restrict your ability to buy, sell, hold or transfer assets, and may affect their value. You are responsible for determining and paying any tax due on your transactions. We do not provide tax advice.
8. Fraud and scams
Crypto-assets are a common target for fraud. Be sceptical of guaranteed returns, of anyone instructing you to buy crypto and send it onward, and of “recovery agents” offering to retrieve lost funds. If someone is directing you through an order right now, stop and contact us before continuing.
9. We do not give advice
Finexia Finance Inc. operates an execution-only service. Nothing on this website or in any communication from us is investment, legal or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset. Decisions are yours alone. If you are unsure, seek independent professional advice before proceeding.
